lyrics

i never thought of it that way
and i wanted to say hey
thank you for that change of pace
an unexpected twist of fate
i'm beside myself today
recognizing that life's okay
we could hang out by the lake
we could unwrap my dismay
death and gloom
could waltz around the room
and if morning could come in
and i find i can love again
i could look behind and see the things i've lived

and then it was that the nautilus spoke
and it was clear that i was stuck in a joke
a smile appeared when the seashell said hope
i'm not saying that the path became clear
i'm not saying that the fear disappeared
but another clue pointed inward to here
